“More government is not the solution to every problem — sometimes it’s the cause.”
An Engineer’s Mind in the State House
Mike Harrington spent his career solving hard problems where the math has to be right the first time — and he brings that same discipline to Concord.
A nuclear engineer with more than 25 years in nuclear power and a former New Hampshire Public Utilities Commissioner, Mike understands energy and infrastructure at a level few legislators ever will. He is a member emeritus of the American Nuclear Society, and he is now serving his fifth term in the New Hampshire House on the Science, Technology and Energy Committee.
Married to Linda for 49 years, Mike is the proud father of two adult daughters and grandfather to one granddaughter. He has called Strafford home for over 40 years and has served on a number of town committees along the way.
Outside the State House, Mike is a lifelong mountain climber — he has summited every New Hampshire 4,000-footer in winter, multiple 14,000-foot peaks, and one mountain over 22,000 feet. He is also an avid scuba diver who enjoys traveling, fishing and target shooting.

The Fight for Strafford 18
Clear priorities. Straight answers. A legislator who does the math before he votes.
Taxes & the Growth in Government
Controlling taxes by controlling spending and growth in government. You cannot tax your way to prosperity — every dollar Concord spends is a dollar earned by a Granite Stater who worked for it.
Committed to Reliable, Affordable Energy
New Hampshire families and employers deserve energy policy built on engineering reality, not slogans. Republicans support an all-of-the-above approach that keeps the grid reliable and electric bills as low as possible.
Committed to Government Accountability
Government works best when it is small, transparent and answerable to the people. That means real oversight of agencies, respect for local control, and defending the individual liberties that make New Hampshire different.
Live Free. Keep It That Way.
No income tax. No sales tax. A citizen legislature that answers to its neighbors, not to lobbyists. The New Hampshire Advantage was not an accident — it was built by people willing to say no to bigger government.
Mike Harrington goes to Concord to protect it.
Spending Discipline
Control taxes by controlling spending — budget by budget, line by line.
Energy Realism
Decades of hands-on expertise applied to the state’s toughest energy questions.
Local Control
Decisions made closest to home are the decisions made best.
Proven Record
Five terms of service and a career of solving problems with facts.
